May Month of Fitness

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department offers a free fitness series throughout May. All classes are free, open to area residents of all ages, and require no registration. Classes meet 6:30–7:30 p.m. at the E. Carroll Joyner Park Amphitheater, 701 Harris Road.

Mondays – Women’s Self Defense
Instructors from Quest Martial Arts will teach participants a variety of techniques to avoid danger and defend themselves if necessary. Sessions focus on practical, instinctive methods to get you out of harm’s way.

Tuesdays – Cynergy Fit
Cynergy Fit is an Outdoor Bootcamp Community in Wake Forest. Personal Trainer Cyndie Daniel will motivate, challenge, and train participants to be stronger, faster, and better than the day before. Workouts are for all fitness levels and integrate strength, cardio, and intensity. Bring a mat and water.

Wednesdays – Yoga
Jana, of Unwined on White, will introduce different styles of yoga in a lighthearted and grounded way. Expect poses that build balance, strength, and flexibility, and connect breath to movement — finishing in savasana at beautiful Joyner Park. All experience levels welcome. Bring a mat or beach towel and water.

Thursdays – Zumba
Come dance and workout. Zumba is a fitness program that combines cardio and Latin-inspired dance. Bring water.

In the event of rain or other inclement weather, class will be canceled.
