Tar River Access
The Tar River runs through Franklin County and offers kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and tubing. Tar River Life in Bunn is a notable outfitter offering kayak rentals and camping. The Louisburg Parks & Rec department maintains a Tar River Trail map.
Lake Royale
A private gated lake community near Louisburg with a 345-acre recreational lake, 18-hole golf course, swimming, fishing, tennis, hiking trails, and a clubhouse. Not a public park — residents and guests only.
