Tonight, Tuesday, December 16th, at 6:00 PM, history will be made in the Board Chambers at 301 S. Brooks Street.
For the first time in nearly a quarter-century, the Town of Wake Forest will prepare to swear in a new Mayor.
The $532 million Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) will also be subject to a public hearing.
This isn’t just a meeting. It’s a pivot point.

The Draft CIP identifies $532 million in capital needs over the next five years.
A Historic Transition
Finally, we must acknowledge the moment.
The Board will pass a resolution of appreciation for Mayor Vivian A. Jones. Mayor Jones has served this town as a Commissioner since 1996 and as Mayor since 2001 . Regardless of your politics, her dedication to Wake Forest is undeniable. She has steered this ship through its most explosive period of growth.
Following this, Ben C. Clapsaddle will take the Oath of Office as our new Mayor. Commissioners Haseeb Fatmi and Keith Shackleford will also be sworn in.
