- Regular Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month, 6 p.m.
- Location: Town Hall Board Chambers, 301 S. Brooks St.
How to Attend or Speak
Anyone may attend in person or watch live via the Public Meetings Portal. To speak during public comment or at a public hearing:
- Complete the BOC Public Comment Form (linked from each meeting agenda)
- Sign-up deadline: 3 p.m. the day of the meeting
- Individual speakers: 3 minutes
- Group spokesperson: up to 10 minutes

Public Records Requests
Public records requests are handled through the Town Clerk’s office via an online form. Governed by NC General Statutes Chapter 132.

Boards & Commissions
Residents may apply to serve on advisory boards. Terms are typically three years. High school students (grades 9–12) may apply for student representative seats on most boards (excluding Planning Board and BOA).
- Planning Board — Reviews rezonings, subdivision plats, and UDO amendments
- Board of Adjustment (BOA) — Hears variance and special use permit appeals
- Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) — Oversees local historic districts and landmarks
- Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board
- Public Art Commission (PAC)
- Human Relations Council (HRC)
- Technology Advisory Board (TAB)
- Urban Forestry Board (UFB)
Applications are typically accepted in fall; BOC announces appointments in November for January terms.

Wake Forest municipal elections (BOC seats) run on odd-year cycles. The most recent municipal election was November 2025; the next regular cycle is November 2027. The current BOC vacancy will be filled by board appointment, not a special election — see our Voting & Elections page for the process.
