Town of Wake Forest Offices Close May 25 for Memorial Day; Trash & Recycling Collection Suspended

The Town of Wake Forest has announced that Wake Forest Town Hall and other administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Curbside trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will also be suspended that day, along with the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express bus service. Go Wake Forest will operate on its normal schedule (6 a.m.–9:30 p.m.).

During the week of May 25, trash and recycling collection will be pushed back one day and will extend into Saturday. For example, Monday’s route will be collected Tuesday, and Friday’s route will be collected Saturday.

Yard waste collection will resume Tuesday, May 26, beginning at 7 a.m. Crews will start with Monday’s regular route and work through the week until all routes are serviced. Residents are urged to place their yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. Tuesday, and to avoid placing items near mailboxes, utility boxes, utility poles, or other fixed objects.

Bulk waste collection will resume Wednesday, May 27, and may extend into Thursday, May 28. Residents can schedule a pickup via the Town’s online bulk waste request form at http://bit.ly/WFBulkPickupForm by 2 p.m. Monday, May 25. Those without internet access can call 919-435-9570 by 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 22. Residents leaving a voicemail must include their name, physical address, phone number, and a description of the items to be collected. Service requests missing required information will not be processed.
