Wake Forest Invites Veterans to Lead Pledge of Allegiance at July 3 Fireworks Spectacular

Wake Forest Independence Day Celebration - July 3-4, 2026

WAKE FOREST, NC – The Town of Wake Forest is calling on veterans from all military branches to step forward and lead a cherished American tradition. Veterans are invited to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the 2026 Fireworks Spectacular on Friday, July 3, at Husky Stadium on the campus of Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Road.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The annual event draws well over 15,000 attendees each year and features a headliner band, food trucks, and an incredible fireworks show.

Veterans Honored on Stage

Veterans in attendance will be invited to assemble in front of the stage and lead the Pledge of Allegiance during the intermission portion of the program, which typically begins at 7:30 p.m. Intermission will also feature a soloist performing the National Anthem — selected by the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board following an open call.

America’s 250th Anniversary

This year’s celebration carries special significance: on July 4, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary (Semiquincentennial) of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As a result, the 2026 Fireworks Spectacular promises to be bigger and better than ever.
